YAHUKIMO - Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA in Papua, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Tuesday, 13 August 2024, the Marines Task Forces conducted a Patrol to secure the area by visiting and greeting residents in the Kuari Village, Dekai District.

Commander of the Marines Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, left a message to the Soldiers from Keikey Post led by First Lieutenant Lalu, who would conduct the patrol on Tuesday. The message was that every Soldier should use their assignment for positive things, not just tend to do it as a routine. The message was immediately answered with the initiative of the HABEMA Marines in conducting the patrol by performing health services to local people they met along the patrol route.

While maintaining the security aspect of the Patrol, the Soldiers extended a warm invitation to the residents they met, fostering a sense of community. When entering the middle of Kuari Village, the Soldiers met Mama Eli Erainka carrying her son and her other son accompanying her. When the Soldiers approached and invited her to communicate, Mama Eli said that her sons were not feeling well. The Medical Soldier of the Patrol Team immediately took medical equipment. Afterward, the Soldier examined and treated the children. Feeling treated like a close relative, Mama Eli said, "Thank you, Mr. Marines. My children are feeling better now".

After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, said, "The initiative of the Marines Task Forces in conducting health services in the Kuari Village is TNI’s effort to fulfill the community’s basic needs to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region."
